ME 5714 : SIGNAL PROCESSING FOR EXPERIMENTAL DYNAMICS: The fundamentals of signal processing of experimentally obtained data from mechanical systems will be covered. Special attention will be given to the areas of random, transient, and sinusoidal data processing. Various methods for the computation of frequency response functions will be explored. The methods will be assessed as to their impact on errors in the basic data used in experimental modal analysis. Elementary concepts in experimental modal analysis will be treated. Pre: 3504, 4504.
